Beko oven
Fault
The oven overheated and burnt food despite being set to the usual cooking temperature.
- Assessment
- Element checks and a comparison of cavity temperature with the control setting found that the thermostat was not switching the heat off correctly.
- Work
- We replaced the thermostat and refitted its sensing probe in the correct position, keeping the capillary tube clear of sharp bends.
- Parts
- Model-matched oven thermostat.
Checks and outcome
Preheat and repeated cycling checks confirmed that the heat switched off and back on as expected. Cavity temperature remained controlled around the selected setting.
